PRL-2 is associated with the regulation of mitosis. Yeast two-hybrid screening for PRL-2-interacting proteins identified the beta-subunit of Rab geranylgeranyltransferase II (betaGGT II), suggesting that PRL-2 may function as a regulator of GGT II activity. Human PRL-2 is a protein tyrosine phosphatase containing 167 amino acids. Recombinant human PRL-2 is expressed in E. coli; it contains the catalytic domain of PRL-2 (residues 2-167) and has a molecular weight of 19 kDa. Source: E. coli
