Purified Rabbit Anti-Mouse Inhibitor of NF-kappa-B alpha polyclonal antibody generated using E. coli expressed Mouse I-kappa-B alpha.
Background: IκBα protein is a NF-κB inhibitory protein. It binds NF-κB, retains the complex in the cytoplasm, prevents it from entering the nucleus, and functions as a transcription factor. Upon receiving a variety of signals, IκBα undergoes phosphorylation at serine residues by a ubiquitin-dependent protein kinase and is finally degraded by the proteasome. Free NF-κB then binds to DNA and affects gene expression.
