Description:

Background: The FGFs play key roles in controlling tissue growth, morphogenesis and repair in animals. FGF-6 is a newly discovered heparin binding growth factor that stimulates the proliferation and activation of cells that express FGF receptors. Product

Entrez Symbol:

FGF6

Uniprot Name:

fibroblast growth factor 6

Uniprot ID:

Source:

E. coli

Molecular Weight:

18.7 kDa

Physical State:

Lyophilized

Formulation:

Lyophilized from a sterile filtered solution without additives.

Purity:

>95% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses.

Biological Activity:

ED50: 0.5-1.0 ng/ml (As determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF-receptors). For most in vitro applications, FGF-6 exerts its biological activity in the concentration range of 0.1 to 20.0 ng/ml.

Endotoxin Level:

<0.1 ng/g

Reconstitution:

Centrifuge vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in sterile in 10 mM Sodium Phosphate, pH 7.2 + 50 mM NaCl to a concentration of >1 mg/ml. The solution can then be further diluted in water or other aqueous buffers.

Storage/Stability:

Lyophilized protein is stable at room temperature, but is preferably stored desiccated at<0℃C. After reconstitution, store at -20℃C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
