Description:

Interleukin-3 (IL-3) is a potent growth promoting cytokine. This cytokine is capable of supporting the proliferation of a broad range of hematopoietic cell types. IL-3 is able to induce the differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells to precursor cells of myeloid lineage (erythrocytes, megakaryocytes, granulocytes, dendritic cells and monocytes). It is involved in a variety of cell activities such as cell growth, differentiation and apoptosis. IL-3 has been shown to also possess neurotrophic activity, and it may be associated with neurologic disorders. IL-3 is produced by activated T cells, mast cells.

Recombinant human IL-3 is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 134 amino acids.
