Recombinant Human NTF3 is a non-glycosylated, non-covalently linked homodimer containing two 120 amino acid chains.
Background: Neurotrophin-3 (NT-3) is an important member of the nerve growth factor (NGF) family of proteins behind BDNF and NGF. It is thought to promote the survival or differentiation of existing and new neurons in the central nervous system and synapses. These functions are thought to be communicated by TrkC, a receptor tryrosine kinase thought induce NT-3-specific signaling. In addition, NT-3 is thought to also bind TrkB and low affinity nerve growth factor receptor (LNGFR)

Reconstitution:

Centrifuge vial prior to opening. Add sterile distilled water to a concentration of 0.1 mg/ml. DO NOT VORTEX. Allow several minutes for complete reconstitution. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.

Storage/Stability:

Lyophilized protein is stable at room temperature for shipping purposes. Store desiccated at -20°C on receipt. After reconstitution, stable for ≤1 month at 2-8°C. For long term, store aliquots at -20°C to -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
