Description:

Thrombopoietin (THPO) is a growth factor produced by the liver and kidney. THPO acts through the THPO receptor to promote megakaryocyte maturation and differentiation, which leads to the production of platelets. Recombinant Mouse Thrombopoietin is a non-glycosylated protein, containing 174 amino acids which comprise the receptor binding domain.

Biological Activity:

Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The biological activity is determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of MO7e cells. The ED50 is typically < 1 ng/ml.

Endotoxin Level:

0.05 EU/οΨΒg protein as measured by kinetic LAL analysis. (with a 50% confidence range)

Reconstitution:

Centrifuge vial prior to opening. First add sterile distilled water to the vial to fully solubilize the protein to a concentration of 100 οΨΒg/ml. After complete solubilization of the protein, it can be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Storage/Stability:

Store lyophilized protein at -20οΨΑC. Reconstituted protein is stable at +2οΨΑC to +8οΨΑC for one week. For longer storage, the reconstituted protein should be stored in working aliquots at -20οΨΑC. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
