Description:

Chemokines and their receptors, which mediate signal transduction, are critical for the recruitment of effector immune cells to the site of inflammation. CCR5 is a G protein coupled receptor that binds CCL3, CCL4 (also known as MIP 1α and 1β, respectively), CCL3L1, and CCL5 (RANTES). CCR5 is predominantly expressed on T cells, macrophages, dendritic cells, eosinophils, and microglia. HIV-1 commonly uses chemokine receptors CCR5 and/or CXCR4 as co-receptors to enter target immunological cells. The receptor is available in the following formats: stable over-expression cell line, membrane preparation, or purified receptor in HEK293 or CHO. Various tagged versions are available.
