Description:

DRD3 encodes the D3 subtype of the dopamine receptor, also known as D3R. This receptor is expressed in phylogenetically older limbic areas of the brain, suggesting that it plays a role in cognitive, emotional, and endocrine functions. The D3 receptor is a target for drugs which treat schizophrenia, drug addiction, and Parkinson's disease. D3 receptors are members of the dopamine receptor G-protein-coupled receptor family that also includes D1, D2, D4 and D5. D3 receptors are located primarily in the nucleus accumbens, olfactory tubercle and island of Calleja where they are involved in the modulation of locomotion.

The receptor is available in the following formats: stable over-expression cell line, membrane preparation, or purified receptor in HEK293 or CHO. Various tagged versions are available.
