GPR119 encodes the protein known as Glucose-dependent insulinotropic receptor, also known as G protein-coupled receptor 119, a member of the rhodopsin subfamily of Gprotein-coupled receptors. GPR119, along with GPR55 and GPR18, have a degree of homology to cannabinoid receptors. The glucose-dependent insulinotropic receptor is expressed predominantly in the pancreas and gastrointestinal tract and may be involved glucose homeostasis. It has been shown to regulate incretin and insulin hormone secretion. The receptor is available in the following formats: stable over-expression cell line, membrane preparation, or purified receptor in HEK293 or CHO. Various tagged versions are available.
